Java Developer – Backend
Role Summary
As a Java Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and
maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. You will collaborate closely with the
engineering, product, and QA teams to build reliable services and APIs that power
high-performance applications. This role demands strong technical proficiency, attention to
detail, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Java 8+).
● Build, integrate, and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
● Write clean, efficient, and testable code following industry best practices.
● Collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.
● Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability.
● Work with relational databases (MySQL) — design schemas, write optimized queries,
and ensure data integrity.
● Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance and scalability.
● Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● Strong proficiency in Java (8 or higher) and core Java concepts.
● Hands-on experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot and related libraries.
● Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
● Sound understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.
● Good knowledge of relational databases (MySQL preferred) and query optimization.
● Familiarity with version control tools (Git, GitLab, or GitHub).
● Understanding of unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) is a plus.
● Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
● Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
● Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
● Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
● Familiarity with messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ).
● Exposure to logging, monitoring, and performance tuning of Java services.
