A Product Documentation Writer specializing in a SaaS (Software as a Service) Application focuses on creating user-centric content that drives adoption, reduces support costs, and ensures customer success within a subscription-based software model. The emphasis is on continuous updates, quick guides, and in-application help.

This role is responsible for creating, editing, and managing all technical and user-facing documentation for our cloud-based SaaS platform. This role is also responsible for training internal teams on the product. The ideal candidate can rapidly assimilate complex product features and translate them into clear, actionable, and engaging content for a diverse user base.

Core Responsibilities

User-Centric Content Development

  • Customer Enablement: Design and write documentation that supports key user workflows, enabling customers to quickly onboard, configure, and maximize the value of the SaaS application.
  • Targeted Documentation: Create a range of content types specific to the SaaS model:
    • “Getting Started” Guides and Onboarding Tours
    • In-App Help (tooltips, microcopy, context-sensitive documentation)
    • Feature Walkthroughs and Use Case Scenarios
    • Admin Guides covering roles, permissions, and configuration.
  • Feature Launch Documentation: Work tightly with the product release cycle (often Agile/sprint-based) to ensure all new features and updates are documented accurately and published concurrently with the release.
  • Integrations & APIs: Document integration points, connection steps, and API endpoints to help customers connect the SaaS platform with other services.

Information Management & Analytics

  • Knowledge Base Ownership: Own and maintain the central Knowledge Base/Help Center, ensuring content structure is intuitive, search functionality is optimized, and outdated articles are archived or updated.
  • Feedback Integration: Manage documentation feedback channels and actively incorporate user suggestions, support tickets, and bug reports into content updates.


Collaboration and Tooling

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the documentation liaison between Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Support. Attend planning and grooming sessions to understand feature development early.
  • Team training: Train the internal team on SaaS product
  • Documentation Tooling: Use wiki.js for product documentation
  • Maintain Style: Strictly enforce the company style guide and quality standards, ensuring a clear, consistent, and approachable voice appropriate for a modern SaaS product.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • This is not work from home. Must work from our Bhilai CG office
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional technical writing experience, with a significant focus on Software as a Service (SaaS), web applications, or cloud platforms.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn and understand software functionality, cloud concepts, basic networking, and user administration. Experience testing software to validate documentation.
  • Agile Expertise: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum development environment with continuous release cycles.
  • Communication: Excellent interviewing and listening skills to extract technical information from engineers and product managers.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating ability to write clear, user-friendly documentation for a software product is highly desirable.
